What Is IEEE

A trusted voice in engineering, technology, and research

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

The organization comprises 39 technical societies, each dedicated to a scientific or technological field. Collectively, the technical societies make up 30% of all global scientific literature in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and other related technical fields such as biomedical, mechatronics, and computer science. With various societies and chapters in over 160 countries around the world, IEEE spearheads academic research, sets industry standards

Our Chapter

UBC IEEE

The UBC IEEE Student Branch chapter strives to be a stepping stone for engineering students in the transition from their education to professional pursuits. We aim to support aspiring engineers by offering enriching opportunities and experiences that go beyond the classroom environment. Through networking events, field trips, workshops and competitions, we hope to foster a close-knit and encouraging environment for students to discover their passion and interests in the engineering profession.
